I'm from Birmingham. I started mixing at 18 and was making my own stuff by 20. I was going to House of God from about '97 through to 2005, and that shaped everything. HOG was co-founded by Surgeon and Paul Damage, and that 4am to 6am stretch (the kind of mayhem Paul Damage used to deliver) is basically where my whole approach comes from.
In the early 2000s I was playing nights in Leeds for Audio Science, run by Martyn Hare, and I played out for Void in Shanghai.
I kept going to Void for years after that. The producing took a back seat while I focused on my career. Part of that was the 4am problem: I always got the end-of-night slot, which is exactly where I want to be, but totally going for it until 6am doesn't mix well with an office job.
I started making music again in 2024. The releases started coming in 2025.
People who know, know that Birmingham was an incredible city for techno. It never attracted much media attention, and honestly that suits the scene fine. I make this music because I want to contribute something back to that. I'm not chasing recognition. What I am really trying to create with this is even a fraction of the feeling I've spent years chasing on dancefloors, and if I can do that, I'm doing something worthwhile.
